Autonomy for European Public Sector Organizations

One of the greatest challenges in government lies in managing the ever-increasing amounts of information while improving the transparency, efficiency and access to public data and services information. Autonomy plays a crucial role in helping government organizations across Europe overcome these challenges. Our software is used by many of the most respected institutions in the public sector including The National Archives, The UK Department for Education and Skills, The UK Department of Trade and Industry, The UK National Patient Safety Agency, The UK Houses of Parliament, The Dutch Tweede Kamer, The Dutch Ministry of VROM, The French Chambers of Commerce, The Library of Lyon, The Swedish Tax Authority, The Spanish Ministry of Defense and The European Union.

Key Capabilities

Conceptual and Keyword Retrieval
Autonomy allows government employees to simultaneously search content in any language format and wherever it is stored. IDOL understands the conceptual meanings of words as well as offering simple keyword matching. In addition, automatic conceptual summarization returns an overview containing the most salient concepts within the data retrieved for a rapid understanding and relevance evaluation. This enables government employees and the public to easily access and retrieve relevant documents in real-time from the vast amounts of information within the various public sector repositories. IDOL also increases employee productivity levels by reducing the time wasted looking for information.
Automatic Categorization
The flexibility of Autonomy's categorization features allows users to derive precise categories through concepts found within unstructured text, ensuring that data is automatically and accurately classified in the correct context. Additionally, IDOL ensures existing legacy taxonomies can be maintained and enriched. This enables IDOL's contextual understanding to integrate with existing government specific taxonomies, ensuring any past manual effort has not been wasted.
Automatic Hyperlinking
Autonomy identifies vital relationships between information, enabling the automatic cross-referencing of content. IDOL completely removes the requirement for any manual input. IDOL generates hyperlinks in real-time, ensuring they are immediately up-to-date. This allows government workers to identify cross-departmental links in information, collaborate more effectively with colleagues and eliminating the duplication of work. Additionally, shared services are high on the agenda of many government departments as they present significant opportunity for cost reduction and improved organizational efficiencies.
Repository/Format Agnostic
Autonomy supports over 1,000 file formats, be it text, audio or video, and can connect up to virtually any content repository to create a single access point across the organization. In addition, IDOL integrates with third-party providers such as Stellent, Trinity and Microsoft, allowing government agencies to fully exploit their existing systems and knowledge resources as effectively as possible.
Aungate's Real-time Records Management Classification
Powered by various IDOL functions, Aungate provides government agencies with a complete enterprise document and records management and classification solution for the automatic evaluation of documents for their fiscal, legal, operational and historic value. This enables comprehensive legal hold and/or deletion operations, now recognized as an essential part of the infrastructure technology within government and defense organizations.
