Autonomy for Professional Services

Leading professional services organizations such as Deloitte, KPMG, Hill and Knowlton and ChoicePoint use Autonomy's IDOL to deliver superior online experiences to their customers, while increasing the productivity and responsiveness of their professionals. From accounting to financial consultants and human resource management, Autonomy's solutions enable customers to access the right information efficiently and effectively and enhance the services they provide to their clients.

Key Capabilities

Automatic Classification
Automatic Classification removes a service organization's reliance on the human intervention typically required by most applications and the information they process. IDOL overcomes the issues associated with the exponential growth of unstructured data by automatically, consistently and accurately classifying data. Automatic Classification delivers the benefits of increased organizational productivity and overall cost reduction by automating the access, receipt, analysis and delivery of information.
Automatic Hyperlinking
IDOL allows manual and fully automatic linking between related pieces of information, regardless of the format. The concepts in a document can be linked automatically to those in another file. They can also be linked to related concepts within video or voice mail. Hyperlinks are generated in real-time at the moment a document is viewed, removing the need for any manual intervention and ensuring they are constantly up-to-date.
Automatic Categorization and Channels
With Automatic Categorization and Channels, organizations do not need to rely on human intervention or the manual processing of information. IDOL's categorization features allow users to derive precise categories through concepts found within unstructured text, ensuring that all data is classified in the correct context with the utmost accuracy. Existing legacy taxonomies can be either maintained or enriched with contextual understanding. The information that IDOL has automatically aggregated and categorized is presented to users in the form of channels.
Content Rationalization
IDOL has the ability to automatically assist the rationalization of content to minimize wastage caused by the duplication of storage and effort. IDOL has the ability to conceptually rate the similarity of two or more documents. Hence when content is created or indexed, IDOL automatically detects whether this specific piece of information already exists in the system and can trigger the appropriate action. IDOL also offers semi-automatic approaches to content rationalization. The system can automatically suggest similar document within a user interface, allowing administrators to manually choose the exact data that is to be deleted.
Conceptual Search
Built on a unique pattern-recognition technology, IDOL enables either a manual or fully automated means of matching and identifying the similarity between pieces of information. IDOL allows content to be searched simultaneously in any language and any format, wherever it is stored, and in return presents summaries and hyperlinks to similar information, automatically and in real-time. IDOL solutions offer high degrees of accuracy and sophistication, using a scalable technology that recognizes concepts. Putting information into context, this unique IDOL differentiator provides powerful conceptual retrieval features, including natural language retrieval, query by example, and refine by example.
Tacit Knowledge
IDOL classification, parametric selection, conceptual retrieval, and repository interfacing make data more accessible, providing users with information that has been clearly defined and automatically placed into a logical business-driven structure. Based on Autonomy's ability to understand any information contextually using advanced pattern-recognition technology, IDOL provides a wide range of highly automated and scalable classification solution.
