DLA Piper Selects Interwoven Universal Search

Leading International Law Firm to Use Interwoven Universal Search to Increase Fee-Earner Productivity and Enhance Client Service

SAN JOSE, Calif., - December 12, 2007 - Interwoven, Inc. (NASDAQ: IWOV), a global leader in content management solutions, today announced that DLA Piper, a global 100 law firm, has selected Interwoven Universal Search – Professional Services Edition, a groundbreaking new solution uniquely designed to meet the demands and expectations of professional services firms. DLA Piper selected Interwoven Universal Search to enable staff in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia to search the organization's knowledge repositories, and to provide fee-earners with immediate and highly accurate results for ensuring optimal sharing of firm expertise.

With more than 3,600 lawyers in 64 offices in 25 countries, DLA Piper's cross-border transactions and international operations demand leading-edge tools to enable fee-earners to deliver consistent, first-class service to clients. DLA Piper realized that a sophisticated search solution could serve as the cornerstone to address its knowledge management challenges – by unifying knowledge systems and empowering fee-earners to quickly locate essential information, best practices, and guidance.

DLA Piper's selection of Interwoven Universal Search was based on the solution's ease-of-use, performance, and ability to integrate with and leverage document management, external information, and firm best practices. Additionally, Interwoven's continued commitment to addressing the unique needs of the legal market played an important role in DLA Piper's decision.

"Our knowledge management supports lawyers in finding and retrieving the right answers from a wide range of systems and information sources," said David Halliwell, Head of Knowledge Management for Europe and Asia at DLA Piper. "Our cross-border transactions mean that the most relevant best practices may be from another country. Interwoven Universal Search will support us in guiding people to the most relevant and current information."

"By using Interwoven Universal Search our staff will have immediate and secure access to what they are looking for, all within a simple Web interface," said Jon Short, Head of Applications at DLA Piper. "As a result, our fee earners can focus on the job at hand – delivering world-class legal service."

"Search has quickly surfaced as one of the technologies to address the challenges of disconnected information systems and the inability of staff to easily locate pertinent materials quickly and easily," said Chris Junker vice president and general manager, professional services industry solutions at Interwoven. "DLA Piper's selection of Interwoven Universal Search is a strong validation that this is the right solution for professional services firms to meet and address these compounding and complex information needs." Released just over 90 days ago, Interwoven Universal Search has generated substantial interest among professional services firms.
